Eating disorders take many forms. From anorexia, bulimia, to binge eating and emotional eating. Maintaining control or losing a sense of control in one’s life can lead to an unhealthy relationship with food. Perfectionism is a personality trait we often see linked to eating disorders. Many people who suffer from eating disorders are high achieving and successful.
Unfortunately, the suffering and reduced quality of life they experience as a result of the eating disorder makes it very difficult for them to lead a life that is content and fulfilled.
