Fear, Mindfulness, Therapy and Coronavirus

Updated: Jan 15, 2022

As I increase my own practice of mindfulness, I encourage you all to do the same.

It goes without saying that following the medical and government guidelines set is prudent.

Looking after your physical health whilst self-isolating is prudent. But how do you improve your immunity once you have taken in all the water, healthy food, ginger, vitamin C and supplements?

The body speaks the mind and if the mind anticipates stress and being ill it will prepare for it by increasing its fight-flight response which can lower immunity.

There comes a point where acceptance of what is moment to moment becomes the best approach. The three things no human on the planet has been able to avoid are old age, disease, and death. Our relationship to this inevitability is therefore what determines our quality of life.

Unhelpful fight/flight responses are overcome when mindfulness is practiced. A sense of calm descends in the midst of chaos. Our observing selves hold a powerful key to increasing our immunity at these uncertain times.

For anyone wanting a one to one session via Zoom for more direction and clarity please feel free to contact us. We continue to offer remote sessions.

We are facing unprecedented uncertainty to the health, wealth and well-being of our society. Individually we all adapt to this differently but adapting is possible.

Wishing you all the best. Keep safe and well.
