NARCISSISTIC ABUSE
8.8 million adults aged 16 -74 experienced domestic abuse in the year to March 2020, but what seldom gets mentioned is Narcissistic Abuse. Although there is now increasing awareness, many psychologists and therapists struggle to offer meaningful advice and help.
It’s a vicious cycle of the terror and torture that individuals suffer – they are constantly subject to criticism, rejection, abandonment and often punishment.
Wonderful strong people become a shell of who they were when they started their relationship. The fear of social stigma or shame in what their “friends” say are deterrents to their escape.
The typical narcissist can be charming and charismatic easily fooling outsiders. Narcissists don’t get their way by empowering themselves but by disempowering others. A victim’s lack of self-worth and self- belief are carefully cultivated by the narcissist. Narcissists can be the worst kind of covert bullies.
In my capacity as a clinical psychologist and having been through a narcissistic relationship, I’ve created a step-by-step way to break free from being in an abusive relationship.
I offer the right tools to help individuals write their own stories. In life, pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional. Only the individual suffering narcissistic abuse can make that choice.
It’s possible to break free of this abuse. What’s needed is hope, confidence and courage which can be garnered with the work we do.
Understand what’s happened. Remember it’s not your fault. You can have choices. You can protect yourself and with the right help and support break free of this abuse.
