Whether it is a single traumatic incident or chronic trauma that you have experienced, trauma can be debilitating and can come in the way of you making healthy life choices and leading a valued and fulfilling life. It can bring anxiety and depression with it. When experiencing trauma, it can feel impossible to envisage a life without it or a life where the trauma has been overcome. This is not unusual. However, experience shows that it is entirely possible to thrive in life after overcoming the worst of traumas.
