Dr Kirsten Shukla is an accomplished Consultant Psychiatrist with over 25 years’ experience. She studied medicine in Hamburg, Germany, and has worked in the UK since 1994. She completed training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at St. Mary’s Hospital, London. She works with people across the age range from children, young people and their families as well as adults and older adults.

 

Alongside working in the NHS, Kirsten works in Cuxhaven, Germany, where she is part of a multi-disciplinary team with a focus on treating the whole family via a psychosomatic model. Kirsten has been running multi-family therapy groups in that service and believes in a holistic approach to Psychiatry.

 

She has worked in psychiatric intensive care and eating disorder NHS inpatient settings as well as a range of NHS outpatient services in London and around, including adult ADHD and autism services.

 

She continues to work part-time in the NHS, presently in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Buckinghamshire. She can currently offer online as well as in person consultations at our Parmi offices in Moorgate, London. 

 

Kirsten has a special interest in sustainable mental health services, climate activism and eco-psychotherapy as well as holistic health. Kirsten will be able to prescribe psychiatric medication but has similarly expertise in deprescribing from medication.

 

She speaks English and German.
